We’ve analyzed the 2023 FFPC dataset, looking at the players drafted, the teams that won, and try to mesh the two worlds together to identify what players and roster construction profiles yielded the best results in 2023. We have literally spent dozens of hours running the analytics, and putting together charts and analysis in these pages. The patterns are real and there are a variety of angles examined to look at what led to success in 2023. In most cases, the results from 2023 are benchmarked against the results from 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017 as well. In this way you can distinguish between outliers and actual trends.

In our opinion, player experience will also factor into the success of a given roster construction. You cannot expect to simply apply a given roster construction scenario and expect success. There are FFPC players that implement what seem to be odd draft strategies that at face value may seem suboptimal. But if you know the history of FFPC, and who the successful players are, you have a different perspective of what may otherwise seem to be an odd roster combination.

Below are a series of pages that analyze a particular aspect of Best Ball construction. As this is our 7th year of this analysis, we have the benefit of examining the trends over time, with many going back to 2017. Looking at these numbers side by side over the past six years, we are able to gauge if success is truly an ongoing pattern, or perhaps an outlier that happened in a particular year.
